How to Store Parsley

Using fresh herbs and spices is far superior than using dried herbs and spices.  I know they aren’t as convenient as their dried counterparts unless you have an herb garden but there are ways to help keep them longer.  I have been using a lot of parsley lately, not only is it loaded with vitamins K, A, and C, I love the subtle flavors it gives and it makes a great garnish for Instagram pictures…hahaha.

Here is how I store my parsley in the fridge:

  1. trim the ends off of the stems of parsley
  2. fill a glass with an inch or two of water
  3. place parsley in glass
  4. cover loosely with a ziplock(mimics a greenhouse)
  5. change the water every few days

Now you can do this with most herbs but ideally basil would be stored at room temperature because it is susceptible to cold.  Herbs stored this way can last up to two weeks if taken care of properly.
