Cinnamon Honey Peaches

With summer time in full swing and the backyard cookouts going down why not add some fruit to that menu?  I love peaches, there is nothing better than a fresh, juicy peach in the hot summer months.   Want to know everything about picking peaches from a tree or a grocery store? Attached to the tree: Peaches are best picked when the fruit separates easily from the twigs. If it is hard to pull off the tree, it isn’t ripe! Peaches will not ripen further once removed from the tree (they only “soften”)
Color: Green is definitely unripe, but you can’t use red color as an indicator of how ripe a peach is. Different peach varieties have differing amounts of red blush in their natural coloring. Pick them when the ground color changes from green to yellow, orange, red (or a combination). The skin of yellow-fleshed varieties ripens to an orange tint, while the skin of white-fleshed varieties changes from greenish- to yellow-white.
Softness: unless you like your peaches very firm, pick your peaches with just a little “give” when gently pressed. Peaches at this stage are great for eating, freezing, and baking. Peaches won’t ripen very much after picking!

Okay so now on to the recipe.  It is very simple and it takes minimal effort to make.  My kind of snack!  There is just something so delicious about a smoky, sweet, juicy peach after dinner.  Add a dollop of coconut cream from my favorite blogger Lexi over at LexisCleanKitchen.com.  It really is truly delicious for my non-dairy friends.  This coconut cream will change your life!

Ingredients : 

  • 2 Peaches, sliced in half and pit removed
  • 4 Tbsp ghee or grass-fed butter
  • 4 Tbsp Honey
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 Can of coconut milk, refrigerated over night (follow instructions here)


  1. heat grill to high
  2. in a small pan either on grill or stove-top melt butter, honey and butter until all combined
  3. brush both sides of peach with mixture
  4. place on grill skin-side down for a few minutes until tender
  5. flip over and grill for 1-2 more mins.
  6. keep basting with butter and honey mixture
  7. top with coconut cream
  8. garnish with mint
  9. Enjoy!


I know my posts have been few and far between lately.  Life has gotten pretty crazy in the summer months.  Work has been keeping me busy, some family stuff going on, riding my motorcycle, and trying to enjoy the nice months.  I know I don’t have to apologize for the lack of content but I thought you guys should know what is going on in the life of John Mack.  I have really been trying to get the most out of life as of late and have been focusing on that.  You can see what I eat on a regular basis on Instagram @WhatWouldJohnMackEat , I have also been thinking of doing a weekly roundup on this site as to what I eat.  What do you guys think?  Once again thank you for the continued love and support and I will work on more postings when I get home from work, I have a lot of good ideas written down.
